The Patch Local Park balances contemporary play opportunities with strong landscape character, encouraging social connection, physical activity and everyday use by people of all ages.

The design incorporates a diverse range of play elements, informal gathering spaces and open lawn areas, all connected by accessible paths and framed by carefully considered planting.

The delivery of The Patch - Local Park presented several construction challenges. Persistent wet weather impacted site access and construction sequencing, requiring flexible programming and close coordination between Landscape Architect and contractor.

Rocky conditions imposed additional and extensive excavation management and design adaptability to ensure play elements and infrastructure could be safely and efficiently installed.

Despite these constraints, the project was successfully completed through collaborative problem-solving and a solutions-focused approach. The result is a high-quality local park that responds to site conditions, overcomes delivery challenges, and provides a welcoming, resilient space for the local community.
